Yes, You Need to be More Gentle to Yourself During Your Breakup
Believe it or not, my 30 + years on this earth have taught me one thing: you don’t get over a breakup by criticizing yourself.
That’s right. Your blaming yourself for your ex’s behavior, or judging yourself just enough to keep you from texting them is only causing more harm than good.
And as a conscious breakup coach, I’m not going to let you do that. I’m not going to let you blame yourself for things that aren’t going to actually lead you to any kind of healing.
(Spoiler alert: none of it does.)
But I get it—we were all raised to think about our actions and their effects on…everyone.
But where that kind of analysis stops being helpful is when you find yourself paralyzed in sheer terror that you’re the worst person on the planet.
So maybe what you need is a break from all the self-blame.
And a little lesson on how to be more gentle with yourself.
So check out this video I made to help you lean into self-compassion.
